Kim + Cody Engagement

I am so excited for this post!

Kim and I have known each other for quite a while. We both used to swim on the W.A.S.P. swim team, and we both were pretty awesome lifeguards together as well. A few of my MANY favorite memories involve pushing her around a racetrack in a wheelchair, forcing her to star in various YouTube videos, and just general workplace craziness. She is an amazing person and she was part of what made our job life-guarding awesome. Which is why I am BEYOND excited that she is ENGAGED, PEOPLE! That’s right, Cody put a ring on it and they’re getting hitched!

We decided to schedule their session at sunrise. It was a beautiful idea of course, but boy, it was COLD! Getting up early for this BEAUTIFUL light is always worth it however, and I was so happy they stuck it out and shared these beautiful locations with me as well.

We started out in a soybean field which was actually covered in frost and provided a nice little uphill hike that warmed us up a bit. We got to actually see the sunrise as we waited for the sun to come up a bit more for better light for their pictures.

After the soybean field the sun was up enough to produce that beautiful golden glow we all love. (YEAH GOLDEN HOUR!)

We headed over to a nice horse pasture and just ‘basked in the glow’ for a bit.

After our A.M. sunrise session, we met up again later that afternoon for a few more pictures in Birnamwood, WI. (Shout out to my hometown!)

Kim had these signs made in between the two sessions and I am so happy she did! Little personal details like this always make me happy as they are what helps make each couple’s session unique.

Speaking of things that made their session unique, I’m happy we got to get in a few pictures of these two and their UW-Madison pride as well!

I am so excited for Cody and Kim’s next step together as a couple and I can’t believe they are letting me be a part of their big day next year as well! Their wedding can’t get here fast enough!

Congratulations, Kim and Cody! You two are amazing together and you have such a fun adventure ahead of you as you plan your big day and get ready to say your ‘I do’s.
