Ryan + Sheena: Iron Mountain Resort Wedding

Ryan and Sheena’s wedding at the Pine Mountain Resort in Iron Mountain was such a dreamy day! The overcast sky and soft rain fit so nicely with the cozy fall theme of the wedding. White pumpkins and cinnamon sticks, mums and cider, the whole day made me want to curl up with a nice cup of hot coco and just enjoy the warmth of Ryan and Sheena’s close-knit group of friends and family as they came together to celebrate the love between these two amazing people.

I remember last year when they first hired me I felt so impressed by their priorities for the day. They took time to make sure focus was on the friends and family that mattered most to them and while their day was filled with beautiful details (seriously LOVE those pumpkins!), the focus was on what makes relationships great: love, closeness, and joy.

I found myself also being impressed by their resilience to bad weather. Or in other words, their willingness to let me stick them in the rain on top of a mountain. It was a bit of a drive up and around the ski hill, but once we got up there I knew it was worth it. The view was soft and foggy and you could see all the beautiful colors of the leaves popping through the fog in the distance.

We dodged a few raindrops but got some of the most epic wedding shots I’ve ever taken. I also have to give a shout out to Sheena’s best friend, Skye. She was so amazing and helped keep Sheena dry between shots with umbrella duty and also made sure Sheena’s dress was fluffed to perfection for pretty much every shot. She was also just a blast to be around and kept up morale during the more wet and soggy moments. Best friends for the win!

At the end of the day I felt so special being able to capture such a close and intimate wedding. The family and friends of the bride and groom were so supportive of Ryan and Sheena and their love for them was so genuine and true.

Congratulations, Sheena and Ryan! Your wedding was beautiful and I pray that the warmth and love that you felt from each other and from your friends and family on your beautiful wedding day carries on into your forever together.

Truly loved this bridal bouquet! I’m growing more and more impressed with preserved flowers…

<3 these pumpkins! Also having a spice packet that can be used later to make hot cider is genius!

I heard that the groom’s biggest wedding input was about these bear cake toppers. Understandable as these are amazing!

I have wanted to try a shot like this for the past three years! So thankful for the rain and two people who were willing to get a few sprinkles on them at the end of the night 😉
