George + Kara: Small Church Wedding

I’m so excited to finally get to share these images! Life has been pretty busy/crazy these past couple of weeks, but here we finally are! Kara and George are married and their wedding was beautiful, special, and centered on Christ.

I have known Kara since we were kids. We were part of the same homeschool co-op (WAHE shoutout!), and our families both went to church together. Needless to say she’s one of those friends that even after months of being apart, traveling our own paths, we can get together and still enjoy our friendship like no time has passed at all. The same awesome conversations, the same laughter, the same joy of friendship.

When Kara first asked me if I was available for her wedding I was EXTREMELY excited. I photographed her sister’s wedding a few years ago when I was just getting started with wedding photography and so I couldn’t have been more pumped to be a part of Kara’s big day. It was a chance to see how far I’ve come personally in regards to photography, and also a chance for me to capture such a precious day for my friend and her family! A wedding with these guys is ALWAYS a blast and since I knew at least half the people in attendance, it was like a big reunion for me too!

The day seemed to fly by as I was only there for a few hours, but every minute provided sweet moments and memories for me to capture.

Kara and George shared a sweet first look behind the church, and lucky for them God seemed to bless us with beautiful warm light and even a little glow in the middle of the day! Their ceremony had me in tears (from both sentiment and laughter) when Kara’s Dad came up and shared a beautiful message before their vows. You know you have a great Dad when he can get both kind of tears out of a crowd when talking about his daughter.

The reception was amazing and had the most amazing brownies! I also experienced putting pure maple syrup in my yogurt at their yogurt bar for the first time. Let me tell you, it was life. changing. Y’all need to go try that right now…

The day was so beautiful and I can’t believe that my dear sweet friend is now married. I am SO happy for her and the future they have to look forward to together.

Congratulations, George and Kara!

Thank you for sharing your day with me and providing such a beautiful picture of Christ’s love for us through your marriage.
