LIFE/BUSINESS UPDATE:
Hello everyone who might still be wondering about this little business of mine đ
I wanted to finally pop on here to officially announce some changes with my business going forward.
(Warning: Childhood Cancer)
This past February, my daughter Arwen was diagnosed with cancer.
Specifically, B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). I cannot overstate how gracious God has been through this season and we are currently very hopeful about her prognosis; however, it fast tracked a lot of big changes in my familyâs life which we are still working on figuring out.
One of the first was this photography business.
As many of you already know I was already planning on slowing down/semi-retiring for a while. All of you are just so amazing however, it went from retiring, to semi-retiring, to just not taking on any new clients. I couldnât say goodbye! And I was hoping things would settle down at some point so I could continue some photography sessions and tasks. But alas, how naive I was. As anyone who has gone through or watched a love one go through cancer treatment knows, despite the advances in care and doctorâs amazing flow sheets, cancer is very unpredictable and hates any type of reliable plan. Schedules and plans are week by week, if not day by day and free time is eaten up with doctor visits, blood tests, bone marrow tests, and hospital stays. And if that isnât difficult enough, we are also currently in the middle of moving 8 hours away to lower Michigan to be closer to Arwenâs hospital.
So with that all being said, I have to sadly announce that my business will be closed indefinitely by the end of this month.
I will be tying up any loose ends through the end of this year so if you have an active gallery or are waiting on any products, no worries. Iâll be getting to everyone by the end of this year with an email with more information.
Thank you all for sticking with me for so long. Never in a million years did I think I would have to say goodbye like this.
Being able to watch marriages start, families grow, and milestones big small was such a blessing. So many of you became more than just clients, and getting to see you each year and catch up was such a highlight to my summers and falls.
I am truly sad about how much I am going to miss out on seeing, and I hope that if any of you want to stay in touch, you will do so! Nothing would make me happier than continuing to see you all making amazing memories (even if I donât get to be the one to capture them).
I thank the Lord that I got to capture so many amazing people and precious stories over the years. And thank all of you for being such a blessing. Thank you for letting me serve you. Thank you for trusting me with so many timeless moments. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
All my love,
Alicia
